Hosted by the bait of gain and reassured by the trust placed in their favorite youtuber, many people took to the game’s site to start spending money to hatch eggs.
While promising to participate in “a viral and fun game”, the game quickly turned into a large-scale scam. At least, these are the accusations made by youtubeur Stephen Findeisen, better known under the pseudonym Coffeezilla.
In a series of videos, the latter accuses Logan Paul of being behind a scam through the launch of CryptoZoo. Documented by several testimonials from former players of the game, Coffeezilla explains that the developers of the game have not never offered players the opportunity to hatch their eggs.
Worse, for users who had not yet spent all their money injected into the game, there was no way to get your money back in FIAT currency.

Logan Paul defends himself from the accusations before apologizing
Quickly, the Coffeezilla videos created strong grassroots pressure against Logan Paul. Thus, he saw himself obliged to share their own view of the facts.
First, through a video, Logan Paul accused Coffeezilla of creating this scandal for the “sole purpose of getting views and money.” Then he explains that game developer Zach Kelling believed to be behind the scam since he would have quickly fled to Switzerland while keeping control of the game.
So users could not actually get their money back, but Logan Paul defends himself for wanting to scam his community by launching this project. On the other hand, being at the origin of the project, the choice to name Zach Kelling was indeed his.
Aware that this line of defense had major weaknesses, surely after consultation with his lawyers, Logan Paul made the decision to delete his answer video and not to sue Coffeezilla.
Shortly after, Coffeezilla explained on Twitter that he spoke to Logan Paul over the phone. The outcome of this conversation was positive since Logan Paul apologized for the tone in his response video before promising to take responsibility and issue a full refund to users.
Logan Paul shares his repayment strategy
Logan Paul’s refunds strategy was eagerly awaited and it came days later. In a video shared on twitter, the latter reiterates his apologies and his lack of intentionality in this disaster before share a three-step plan.
First, he explains that he is going to burn his entire ZOO bag. Next, a $1.3 million reimbursement program will be put in place to be able to reimburse all users wishing to recover their initial bet.
