In all, no less than 16 rooms guarantee an immersion in Fellini’s teeming imagination with the help of videos, installations, costumes and cult objects, such as the Christ of The good life or a special Anita Ekberg XXL selfie! Throughout the tour, the visitor can review film extracts, discover archival documents, props and sets, as well as the famous “Book of Dreams”, the diary in which the director drew and wrote down for thirty years the dreams at the origin of his films.
Fellini’s walk through the streets of Rimini
After the visit, the exploration of the universe of Federico Fellini continues in the streets of Rimini, some of which bear the name of characters from his films, but also of his companion and muse, the extraordinary actress Giuletta Masina. The filmmaker rests by his side in the monumental cemetery, under a bronze work by the sculptor Arnaldo Pomodoro.
A must-see, the Borgo San Giuliano invites you to take a poetic stroll with its mural frescoes by local artists, evoking with grace and emotion the Maestro’s films, such as the moving Gelsomina by La Strada or thea famous Trevi Fountain scene from The good life.
By the sea, you shouldn’t miss the Grand Hôtel, a splendid Art Nouveau building, which made the hero ofAmarcordinspired by Fellini’s childhood memories, but also the Corso d’Augusto, the Arengo Palace or the Fontana delle Pigna, among other places mentioned in Amarcordwhose title means ” I remember in the local dialect.
Not far away, the Rimini quay, which leads from the lighthouse to the Palata, – one of the most popular promenades in Rimini – appears in scenes from I Vitelloni. Unconditional Fellini fans will go as far as Marina Centro, in rue Dardanelli, where the filmmaker was born.
