This is one of the curiosities of the Canary Islands: the natural pools, sealed spaces in which, due to their configuration, seawater has penetrated without human intervention, except to arrange the site of stairs , footbridges or trampolines. You can bathe there in calm water, like in a swimming pool, in often spectacular settings, except that it is the water of the Atlantic Ocean.
The archipelago has many natural pools spread over all the islands, such as Charco Azulcreated by lava, without a doubt one of the most spectacular bathing spots in El Hierro with its turquoise water, or those of Punta Mujeres which extend over 2km in Lanzarote, ideal for splashing around with the family.
HAS Aguas Verdeson Fuerteventura, six kilometers of swimming pools are dotted along the rocky coastline, in contrast to the famous local sandy beaches, while at Charco Del Viento, on Tenerife, the pools are the result of lava flows. On Gran Canaria, the ocean constantly renews the water in the natural pools of Roque Prietoso clear where you can see the rocky bottoms.
Dozens of other swimming pools are to be discovered in the Canary Islands. The set is available on this page.
